It was standing room only at the grand-opening ceremony held for Elk Creek Kiowa casino in Hobart, Oklahoma, Wednesday, July 23, 2025.The celebration kicked off with songs, the presentation of colors, and a tribal blessing.
The new casino marked the expansion for the Kiowa Tribe by bringing entertainment, economic growth, and jobs to the Hobart area.
Kiowa Tribe Chairman Lawrence Spottedbird said this project has been in the making for several years. He said it is not only a place for entertainment, but it is also a way to bring economic change to the area.
“This is the first step of many positive steps that we look forward to affecting here in southwest Oklahoma to reinvigorate the economy,” Spottedbird said.
