Elite Casino Resorts finalized a deal to buy Catfish bend Casino and FunCity Resort in Burlington, Iowa, the group announced Tuesday. Elite Casino Resorts owns and runs Riverside Casino in Riverside.
The company plans to transition the casino to its new name: Great River Casino Resort and FunCity.
Dan Kehl, CEO of Elite Casino Resorts said the purchase “feels like coming home” back when the deal was first publicized last fall. The Kehl family previously operated Catfish Bend Casino, according to the company’s website.
“Our family’s history with Burlington and Southeast Iowa goes back to the earliest days of Iowa gaming,” Kehl said.
