July data from Denmark’s Spillmyndigheden saw gambling GGR increase 2.6% year-on-year to DKK554m ($82.6m) across all verticals, including land based.
Online casino represented the biggest increase in revenue, generating 7.8% GGR growth on the previous year (DKK284m), while betting rose by 0.7% to DKK149m. Despite the upturn in online casino revenue, it was still some way off the record amount of DKK309m in March.
Sports betting revenue was up slightly on the previous to DKK149m from DKK148m, although it dropped from June’s GGR of DKK271m at the height of the Euro 2024 tournament.
Online casino accounted for 51.25% of total GGR, with sports betting making up 26.9% of the sector.
