Cowichan Tribes is preparing to take full ownership of a casino in Duncan.
The First Nation’s business wing, Khowutzun Gaming Corporation, has entered into a purchase agreement with the Duncan Dabber Bingo Society to acquire all of the interest in the casino at 436 Cowichan Way. The society has until now partnered with Cowichan Tribes in running the facility.
“I raise my hands to the Duncan Dabbers Bingo Society for working with us to ensure Chances Cowichan has been a successful partnership, providing local employment, responsible gaming and entertainment, and important supports for local non-profits and Cowichan Tribes,” said Cindy Daniels, chair of the Khowutzun Gaming Corporation and chief of Cowichan Tribes.
