The state will not pony up the millions of dollars area towns stood to gain from the Tribal Winds Casino in East Windsor, saying Wednesday the funds were meant to reimburse them for expenses that won’t be incurred now that the plan is dead.
Nevertheless, Paul Mounds, chief of staff to Gov. Ned Lamont, said the governor “would love to continue to have the conversation with East Windsor.”
And that conversation is expected to happen this month when Mounds, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner David Lehman, and Sen. M. Saud Anwar, D-South Windsor, meet to discuss the failed project and how to move forward.
