CNY surging as Macau welcomes new all-time high of 227,943 visitor arrivals on a single day

Macau saw an inbound peak on Thursday – the third day of the Lunar New Year – of 227,943 visitor arrivals, setting a new all-time high for daily inbound visitors.

According to data released by the Public Security Police Force, the city’s border checkpoints recorded a total of 750,114 cross-border movements on Thursday. Of these, inbound movements totaled 388,456, including 227,943 visitors, breaking Macau’s historical record for inbound visitors. Outbound movements reached 361,658, including 220,785 visitors.

By mode of arrival, the Gongbei Port of Entry (Border Gate) was the primary channel, with 163,732 arrivals. The Hengqin Port, Qingmao Port and the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge port recorded 66,939, 53,638 and 66,928 inbound arrivals, respectively.
