Cirsa has launched a recycling initiative that transforms used PVC playing cards from its casinos in Spain and Morocco into new cards for its Winner Club loyalty programme.

The project involves several stages. The PVC cards, manufactured by Fournier, are collected at the end of their lifecycle and sent for certified destruction, ensuring material traceability and security. The remaining material is supplied to Spica, a PVC production and recycling specialist, which incorporates it into its industrial process to create recycled PVC sheets. Aplicard then uses the laminated PVC to manufacture the Winner Club cards.

According to the company, the initiative is expected to recycle more than one tonne of playing cards over the next three years.
