After a year of construction, Marshall Yards Racing and Gaming at Calvert City opened to the public on Wednesday.

Marshall Yards is Churchill Downs Inc.’s eighth gaming and entertainment venue, covering 23,000 square feet with more than 225 historical racing machines, simulcast wagering and sports betting options, along with food and beverage outlets and a sports bar.

Marshall Yards is located near the intersection of US 62 and Interstate 24 Exit 27. It will operate as an annex of Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel, and is designed to support the broader racing and gaming footprint connected to the Oak Grove facility.

The official launch of the $40 million venue included remarks from Churchill Downs CEO Bill Carstanjen, Senior Advisor to Governor Beshear Rocky Adkins, Marshall County Judge-Executive Kevin Spraggs, and Calvert City Mayor Gene Colburn.
