GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World – SA’s biggest gaming complex in Cape Town’s suburb of Goodwood – is set to get a new fully-fledged shopping centre of around 22 000m² that will boost its mixed-use leisure and retail offering.
The R600 million [$33M] development will be undertaken by Flanagan & Gerard Property Group – the well-known shopping centre developer and investor – in a joint venture with JSE-listed Sun International, which is a major shareholder in SunWest.
SunWest is the owner and operator of GrandWest Casino, together with local empowerment partners.
Dubbed GrandWest Mall, the retail development has been confirmed to Moneyweb by both partners ahead of the public launch of the project to market next week.
