The Tejon Indian Tribe gave an update on the construction of the long-awaited Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. It’s set to become the first resort hotel and casino in Kern County.
Just a half mile off the 166 Mettler exit on Highway 99, as you head towards the Grapevine, beams, and tractors are visible as construction of phase I of the billion-dollar project continues.
“It’s exciting and like many things, the anticipation is part of the fun,” said Bakersfield Chief Economic Development Officer Jim Damian. “So, I think we have a lot to look forward to.”
In December, the shovels hit the dirt, and construction for Kern County’s first resort hotel and casino was underway with jobs being available to the public.
