That means Win-River Resort and Casino owner Redding Rancheria has prevailed in its two-year-old lawsuit that accused Redding of illegally selling land near Strawberry Fields, just south of the city. The next steps are still being determined.

The lawsuit, filed in Shasta County Superior Court in 2020, alleged the property’s sale would essentially block access to land where the tribe is planning to relocate its Win-River casino complex.

Redding Rancheria filed the lawsuit against the city of Redding and Shasta Land Holdings LLC in July 2020.
