California Attorney General Rob Bonta said he will take action against online fantasy sports platforms that continue to operate in the state after he released his legal decision earlier this month stating those platforms violate state law.
“The next step is our enforcement, and laws are meant to be enforced,” Bonta told KCRA 3.
Bonta, this week, spoke publicly for the first time about the legal opinion he released July 3 that deemed online daily fantasy sports sites unlawful because they involve sports betting. Sports betting is illegal in California.
KCRA 3 asked Bonta to comment on the situation during his virtual press conference on Monday evening.
