On February 24, the Virginia Lottery released its January 2025 report for casino gaming activity and the newly opened Caesars Virginia in Danville earned the most in the state.
Three casinos are operating throughout Virginia including Hard Rock Bristol, Rivers Casino Portsmouth, and Caesars Virginia and according to the Virginia Lottery, Caesars raked in $28,565,135 in January.
Between all three casinos, gaming revenues totaled $72.3 million with $13 million in taxes being paid to the Gaming Proceeds Fund.
Of the state tax on casino AGR, Virginia State law specifies distributions to the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund, the Family and Children’s Trust Fund, as well as the host city.
