A yearslong battle to bring a casino to Throgs Neck continues.
News 12 spoke with Bally’s senior vice president of corporate development Christopher Jewett about the local benefits of the project. “People are already gambling, so why not keep the tax dollars local?,” said Jewett.
The project is set to create 3,500 jobs within the casino. Executives close to the project said the economic impact could be a big benefit to the borough.
Residents News 12 spoke with said they’re concerned the project will alienate parkland and bring more traffic to the area. “It’s another destabilizing influence on a neighborhood,” said one resident.
