Snuneymuxw First Nation in Nanaimo has announced it is purchasing a fifth casino.
The First Nation’s economic development arm, Petroglyph Development Group, has announced it will be purchasing Great Canadian Casino Vancouver in Coquitlam from Great Canadian Entertainment. In a press release issued Friday, Dec. 19, the group stated that a definitive agreement has been signed for the purchase, which remains subject to closing conditions and approvals under B.C.’s Competition Act.
“This latest agreement reinforces the strategy we’re executing and the proven results we’ve achieved across our gaming portfolio,” said Snuneymuxw Chief Mike Wyse in the release. “The confidence placed in us by Great Canadian Entertainment and the industry is grounded in our disciplined approach to sustainable growth.”
