South Africa Rugby has signed up gambling firm Betway to its sponsorship portfolio, naming the brand the associate sponsor of the governing body and the national team, the Springboks, for the next three years.
Betway’s logo will be present on the shorts of the South African team’s kit. The company will also be granted on-field and perimeter branding at the current rugby union world champions’ home matches.
Jurie Roux, SA Rugby chief executive, believes the deal will help enhance the reach and growth of the game, commenting: “We are excited to be partnering with Betway as this will stretch beyond the four white lines of a rugby field.”
