Stuart* had just lost money gambling at Perth’s Crown Casino when a man approached him with an offer.
“I can lend you $10,000 and maybe you can win the money back and we can all go home sweet.”
Stuart accepted the offer but lost the money, leading to harassment and death threats from the loan shark. His story is one of several documented in submissions made to the Perth Casino Royal Commission this month.
The inquiry was set up to determine if Crown Perth is fit to hold a casino gaming licence in the wake of money laundering claims.
