Late Tuesday afternoon, Gulfside Casino Partnership submitted an application for the Pope County Casino License to the Arkansas Racing Commission, according to officials with the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.

This comes a week after a resolution to support the Gulfside Casino Partnership in the Pope County Quorum Court failed with a 7-5 vote.

Cherokee Nation Entertainment has also submitted an application for the license.

The Commission is required to issue the license within 30 business days.
