Fresh off its successful first-year anniversary of legal sports betting in September, Arizona enjoyed another steady increase in handle for the month of October, basking in the success of online sports betting sites.

Arizona sports betting took in over $618 million in wagers — up $80 million from September 2022 — and is an increase of 27.3% from October 2021, according to Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) figures that were released this week.

“It is clear Arizona’s sports betting industry continues to grow, with over $132 million more wagered in October of 2022 when compared to the same month of 2021,” ADG Director Ted Vogt said. “With Super Bowl LVII and the Phoenix Waste Management Open on the horizon, I am excited to see how these major sports tourism events impact the state’s sports betting industry in the coming months.”
