The prefectural government’s dreams of a financial jackpot have ended, deciding to withdraw a plan to construct an integrated resort that included a casino in the prefecture.
The infrastructure ministry in December rejected the Nagasaki prefectural government’s application for the integrated resort, citing uncertainties about financial backing for the project.
The Nagasaki prefectural government had until March 27 to submit a request to utilize the administrative complaint review system.

But at a March 13 prefectural assembly committee session, prefectural government officials said they would not ask for an administrative complaint review and admitted they could no longer pursue the current plan.
