Visitors to New Jersey and the money they spent here set new records in 2024, with Atlantic and Cape May counties leading the way.
A report issued Thursday by the state Division of Travel and Tourism found that 123.7 million people visited New Jersey in 2024, and their spending exceeded $50 billion for the first time, settling at $50.6 billion.
Atlantic County, with its nine casinos and numerous beach towns, had nearly 24 million visitors, by far the most in the state, accounting for nearly 20% of all visitors to New Jersey. That figure was up 1.8% from 2023.
And Cape May County saw 12.11 million visitors, second-highest in the state. That represented an increase of 4.6% from 2023.
