Boyd Gaming said Wednesday announced plans to resume operations at three properties in Indiana and Ohio, pending receipt of final regulatory approvals.
On Monday, Boyd’s two casinos in Indiana, Blue Chip Casino Hotel and Spa in Michigan City, and Belterra Casino Resort in Florence will reopen. On June 19, the Boyd will reopen Belterra Park in Cincinnati.
The Las Vegas-based company will have 24 of its 29 properties nationwide reopen once the three casinos are back online.
We are encouraged by early guest volumes at our newly reopened properties across the country and are optimistic we will see similar results as we return to business at Blue Chip, Belterra Resort, and Belterra Park,” said Boyd CEO Keith Smith.
Casino officials say they will limit the number of people inside in order to comply with state guidelines.
“Protecting the health and safety of our guests, team members and the community will be our top priority as we get ready to reopen Belterra Park Cincinnati,” Chris Corrado, Vice President and General Manager of Belterra Park, said.
In addition, some amenities will also have limited capacity and hours.
“We are excited to return to business at Belterra Resort and look forward to providing every guest an enjoyable experience in a safe environment,” Peter Chu, Vice President and General Manager of Belterra Casino Resort, said.
Also in Ohio, Jack Casino, Miami Valley Gaming and Hollywood Casino will all open their doors next week. The Ohio openings come after Gov. Mike DeWine announced the businesses could open as early as June 19.
DeWine said casinos and racinos can reopen with restrictions: poker, coat check, valet services, concerts, and banquets won’t be available yet.
The maximum capacity will be limited to no more than 50% of fire code, most employees will wear face coverings and special hours will be set aside for at-risk populations, such as older adults.
