Betty is unique on Ontario’s vast igaming landscape. It’s a female-focused online-casino platform, Ontario-only. They went live in the province in February 2023.

A few months ago, CEO Justin Park told CDC Gaming about the technology on which their casino is based.

“Our brand-new platform is built on real-time data,” he said. “It’s been built for the Ontario market only, custom for the market. I don’t think another operator can say that. Additionally, we look at onboarding. What are the most popular games in Ontario? Because this is the only market we’re in.”

As much as any other operator, Betty understands the need to offer an immersive entertainment experience. Operators can’t control whether a player wins or loses, but they can control the quality of that experience. As someone at the recent Canadian Gaming Summit said, doing a deep dive on customer-relationship management, helping to build the bridge between customer acquisition and retention, is where the real rubber will hit the road in a market as competitive as Ontario. Another panelist said that when it comes to casino, don’t just set it and forget it.

Park says they’ve been developing reports based on their in-house data benchmarking their different game suppliers, covering the behavior of their players. These reports offer a comparative analysis for game providers, to help them understand their standing relative to their peers.

Betty just released their Q2 report, from April through June. According to the data, in terms of GGR percentage share, Pragmatic Play has a significant lead, with over a third of the total GGR (32.8 percent), followed by Games Global (20.7 percent) and IGT (11 percent). That’s a considerable chunk; all the other providers are in the single digit range, topping out at six percent (Playson).

“In Q2, Pragmatic Play continued to dominate the market with their amazing game portfolio, successful new releases, and the now-iconic Drops and Wins promotion,” said Deyan Valtchev, Head of Casino for Betty. “Pragmatic Play’s flexibility in co-sponsoring promotions and Betty-exclusive tournaments has allowed us to offer a richer and more generous experience for our players.”

Notable growth markers among game providers at Betty in Q2 include Games Global, with an increase from 13.6 percent in total bets in April to 24.9 percent in June, with their GGR percentage going from 12.8 percent in April to 22.7 percent in June. Everi also saw a big jump on the GGR side – 3.6 percent in April to 6.1 percent in June.

“Games Global has made a splash in just three months with their hit jackpot games,” said Valtchev. “I think they’ll challenge Pragmatic Play’s top spot soon.”

Big Bass Bonanza (Pragmatic Play) was the favorite game among players, with Sweet Bonanza (Pragmatic Play) the top game by turnover. Big Piggy Bank (Inspired) was the top game by number of rounds (10.4 percent). The biggest win in Q2 was $217,512 on Gold Blitz Extreme (Games Global).

“Today’s players are smarter and more demanding. They want more than the traditional slot play. They want an immersive entertainment experience,” said Valtchev. “That’s the future we’re aiming for at Betty and our content partners are key to making it happen.”
