BetMGM Wednesday announced a deal with Sportradar that will enhance the sports betting and igaming company’s access to NBA player data and information.
Sportradar will provide BetMGM access to next-generation products and services that leverage NBA optical tracking data provided by Sportradar through its partnership with the NBA. The deal allows BetMGM to grow its prop markets and same-game parlay portfolio, as well as its in-play betting markets.
“Sportradar’s league data has enabled BetMGM to enhance our product offerings since we first partnered with them in 2018,” said BetMGM Chief Product Officer Jarrod Schwarz in a statement. “We expect the upcoming NBA season to be outstanding and look forward to leveraging this data for years to come.”
According to Science Direct, optical tracking systems use visual information to track users, mostly often through use of a video camera that acts as an electronic eye to “watch” the tracked object or person. The video camera is normally in a fixed location.
“We’re pleased our value-add products and services will unlock the potential of NBA optical tracking data for BetMGM,” said Sportradar Chief Commercial Officer Eduard Blonk, “while supporting the return-on-investment of our partnership with the NBA.”
The NBA season tipped off Tuesday evening with games between the Denver Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers, and the Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns.
