Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise this week hosted a media tour showcasing the ongoing construction of a new $450 million facility, Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks, at San Lucy. Located near Glendale, Arizona, the new casino is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2024.

When it debuts, Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks at San Lucy will feature 900 Class III slot machines, a poker room, a sportsbook, and table games including blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat. Multiple restaurants, including a Morton’s Steakhouse, will be available.

“Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks at San Lucy will be a beautiful, upscale facility that will be an entertainment mecca and economic engine for the fastest-growing region in the Valley,” said Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise CEO Mike Bean in a statement. “Our construction team is doing an incredible job keeping us moving forward on an aggressive timescale. We are excited to create more opportunity for the Tohono O’odham Nation and the West Valley.”

Future construction will expand the facility to include a hotel, conference center and other amenities. The project has created 5,500 construction jobs and the casino will employ more than 1,000 team members.

The new property is located on 80 acres of reservation land west of Glendale, Arizona. This land was taken into trust by the federal government for the Tohono O’odham Nation, similar to the process that established Tohono O’odham Nation’s Desert Diamond Casino West Valley casino.
