Sportsbook revenue in Arizona increased eight percent in March to $57.4 million. Handle was $758 million, an 18 percent surge, and hold was 7.6 percent.
Operators spent 34 percent of revenue, some $19.5 million, on promotions. In terms of percentage of handle, Bet365 and ESPN Bet were the most lavish promoters, spending 6.5 percent and 5.3 percent, respectively, of their handle to attract players.
Although in second place, DraftKings cut into FanDuel’s market share, which dropped from 40 percent in March 2023 down to 35 percent. DraftKings rose from 26 percent last year to 34 percent. BetMGM (12-percent share) and Caesars Sportsbook (seven percent) both fell two percent.
Handle was dominated by FanDuel ($267 million) and DraftKings ($257 million), followed by BetMGM ($95 million) and Caesars ($57 million). Further back with $29 million was Bet365, trailed by ESPN Bet’s $27 million in wagers.
Actual win was led by FanDuel with $24 million. DraftKings kept $18.4 million, followed by BetMGM ($7.4 million), Caesars ($3.1 million), Bet365 ($1.9 million), and ESPN Bet ($1.6 million). BetRivers won $300,000 and all other operators combined for $600,000.
