Mike Bean Thursday was introduced as the new CEO of Desert Diamonds Casinos & Entertainment in Arizona. Bean, who has worked in senior management positions for gaming operations including Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods Resort Casino, Harrah’s Entertainment, and Boyd Gaming, takes over the operations of the company August 30.
Deserts Diamond Casinos are run by the Tohono O’odham Nation.
“Mike Bean has the experience and expertise that we’re looking for in our next CEO,” said Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise Management Board Chairman Justin Manuel in a statement. “This is an exciting time for tribal gaming in Arizona. We need a leader who is forward-thinking and ready to embrace a new era of gaming in our state. Mike understands where we’re going and what we want to accomplish—for our enterprise, for the Tohono O’odham Nation, and for our community partners across Arizona.”
Tohono O’odham Gaming operates four Arizona casinos in Tucson, Sahuarita, Why, and the West Valley.
Bean’s achievements including helping to open the first East Coast casino outside of Atlantic City at Foxwoods, and helping to launch Pennsylvania’s first casino, Mohegan Sun Pocono. He recently served as CEO of Saginaw Chippewa Gaming Enterprises, overseeing three locations.
