Arizona sportsbooks’ winnings plunged 25 percent in December, down to $49.3 million. Conversely, the total wagers rose 23 percent to $849 million. Winnings were further diminished by $23.5 million in promotional giveaways. Hold sank to 5.8 percent.
With 33 percent of market share apiece, FanDuel and DraftKings vied closely for bettors’ money. FanDuel garnered $276.2 million in handle and $20.7 million of revenue. DraftKings was $300,000 behind in handle (with $275.9 million) and garnered $16.3 million in winnings.
Third place went to BetMGM, which won $3.9 million on a handle of $112.4 million, while Caesars Sportsbook realized $2 million out of $47.5 million in handle. Bet365 booked $1.8 million in winnings on $40 million in handle and ESPN Bet won $700,000 out of $22.9 million wagered with it.
FanDuel and DraftKings engaged in an equal amount of promotional largesse with $7.1 million apiece. BetRivers did the least, giving back $200,000 out of $600,000 in win and $6.6 million in handle. All other operators, including Fanatics, combined for handle of $67.6 million, $3.4 million in winings, and $2.5 million in promotional activity.
