Aristocrat Gaming announced Thursday it has finalized a deal with Loto-Québec to distribute its video lottery terminals (VLTs) in the Quebec market starting this summer.
“Gaining entry into the Quebec VLT market is another major milestone for the company, demonstrating our vested interest in these emerging segments, and allowing us to bring our products to new markets and their players,” said Kurt Gissane, Chief Revenue Officer for Aristocrat Gaming.
In a December statement on financial results for the first half of the 2023-24 fiscal year (ending Sept. 25, 2023), Loto-Québec, reported that gaming establishments generated $441.2 million in revenues. While the bar and restaurant industry had been hit hard in recent years, led by pandemic-related shutdowns, “video lottery terminals remain attractive to retailers. Loto-Québec continues to reflect on this type of offering will evolve within a responsible framework.”
If this new deal is any indication, they appear to be working that out. CDC Gaming reached out to Loto-Québec for a quote, but we haven’t heard back.
A statement issued by Aristocrat Gaming indicated that a 10-game launch of titles like Bao Zhu Zhao Fu Red Festival, Fire Light, Fu Dai Lian Lian Panda, Scorchin Fortune, Flamin Hits, and others will be the first out of the gate. Aristocrat will be providing the new MidKnight X Upright cabinet.
