Aristocrat and Scientific Games lead the way at first ever Eilers & Krejcik Slot Awards

Aristocrat Technologies was the big winner at the first-ever EKG Slot Awards, presented last week at the Bellagio in Las Vegas by Eilers & Krejcik Gaming.

Australian-based Aristocrat took home seven of the 21 individual category awards, including the prize for Best Overall Supplier of Slot Content. Las Vegas-based Scientific Games took home five awards.

The awards were designed to recognize excellence in slot machine game development within the land-based casino gaming industry and social casino sector.

In addition to Aristocrat and Scientific Games, International Game Technology was the only other multiple winner with three awards. Aristocrat was awarded Most Improved Supplier for Premium Games and AGS won Most Improved Supplier for Core Games. Playtika was given the Top Social Gaming Company prize.

Longtime slot machine industry game designer Joe Kaminkow was inducted into the EKG Hall of Fame.

“It was a great night celebrating excellence in the slot sector, with approximately 200 executives in attendance from all the major gaming equipment suppliers, as well as several of the industry’s largest casino operators and key media representatives,” said Todd Eilers, a principal at Eilers & Krejcik.

The land-based category winners were determined by voting from over 100 qualified slot managers and slot directors representing over 300 casinos across the U.S. and Canadian markets and representing roughly 300,000 total slot machines. For the Social Casino segment, winners were determined by voting from a panel of social casino industry experts.
