In February 2022, the AGEM Index increased by 27.08 points to 952.95, a 2.9% increase over January. Compared to one year ago, the index added 201.16 points for an annual growth rate of 26.8%.
Nine of the Index companies reported stock-price improvements in February, while three posted declines. As a result, eight companies contributed positively to the index, while one posted no change and the remaining three companies had negative contributions.
The top contributor to the monthly index was International Game Technology , whose 14.4% increase in stock price led to a 17.29-point gain for the Index. Scientific Games reported a 10.51-point contribution to the index as a result of a 9.1% increase in overall stock price.
Aristocrat Leisure Limited was responsible for the largest negative contribution to the Index; its 7.6% drop in stock price resulted in a 17.49-point decrease in the Index.
By comparison, all three major U.S. stock indices declined in February. The S&P 500 was down 3.1%, the NASDAQ 3.4%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average experienced the largest dip among major U.S. stock indices with
a 3.6% drop in February 2022.
