AGEM Index down a half-percent in March

The AGEM Index decreased by 5.10 points in March 2023 to 945.81, a 0.5% decrease from the prior month. Compared to one year ago, the Index was down 9.59 points, or 1%.

During the latest month, six of the 12 AGEM Index companies reported stock-price increases, which resulted in five positive and seven negative contributions to the Index.

The largest positive contribution was from Konami Corp., whose 1% increase in stock price led to a 4.70-point gain. Additionally, Aristocrat Leisure Limited’s stock price increased by 1.8%, leading to a 3.94-point gain. The largest negative contribution was sourced from Crane Co., whose 5.2% decrease in stock price resulted in a 7.19-point loss for the Index.

All three major U.S. stock indices registered month-over-month increases in March. The NASDAQ increased by 6.7% from February, while the S&P 500 grew by 3.5% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 1.9% month on month.
