The AGEM Index fell by 164.88 points to 1,615.74 in March, a 9.3 percent decline from the prior month. Compared to one year ago, the Index rose 32.6 percent or 396.82 points. During the latest month, each of the 12 AGEM Index companies reported stock price decreases, which resulted in 12 negative contributions.
The largest negative contributor to the monthly index was Aristocrat Leisure Limited, whose 11.0 percent decrease in stock price led to a 75.59-point loss. Light & Wonder’s stock price decreased by 22.3 percent, leading to a 49.37-point decrease for the Index.
The industry stock performances were among a broader decline for all three major U.S. stock indices amid uncertainty over federal tariff and trade policies. The NASDAQ fell by 7.4 percent over the month, the S&P 500 experienced a 5.4 percent dip, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 4.2 percent from February.
