AGEM Index decreases 0.1 percent in May

The AGEM Index fell by 1.11 points to 1,741.18 in May, a 0.1 percent loss from the prior month. Compared to one year ago, the Index rose 40.9 percent, or 505.56 points.

During the latest month, five of the 12 AGEM Index companies reported stock-price decreases, which resulted in five negative contributions and seven positive contributions to the Index.

The largest negative contributor to the monthly index was Aristocrat, whose 6.6 percent decrease in stock price led to a 41.03-point loss to the Index. Konami Corp.’s stock price dropped 3.4 percent, leading to a 10.95-point decrease.

The largest positive contributor to the Index was Agilysys, whose 42.5 percent increase in stock price resulted in a 35.11-point gain. The growth of Agilysys’s stock price was fueled by a record-setting fiscal year 2025 net revenue of $275.6 million, up 16.1 percent from the prior year.

In May, all three major U.S. stock indices increased from the prior month. The NASDAQ rose by 7.9 percent over the month, the S&P 500 experienced a 5.5 percent increase, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 3.7 percent over the prior period.
