The AGEM Index decreased by 14.54 points in May to 956.98, a 1.5 percent decrease from the prior month. Compared to May 2022, the Index was up 73.87 points, or 8.4 percent.
Six of the 12 AGEM Index companies reported stock price increases in May, which resulted in six positive contributions, five negative contributions, and one neutral contribution.
The largest positive contribution came from Konami Corp., whose 10.5 percent increase in stock price led to a 14.08-point gain to the index. Crane NXT’s stock price increased by 11.1 percent, leading to an 8.02-point gain for the Index.
The largest negative contribution was sourced to International Game Technology, whose 12.8 percent decrease in stock price resulted in a 15.20-point loss for the Index.
The three major U.S. stock indices were mixed in May. The NASDAQ increased by 5.8 percent month-over-month, while the S&P 500 grew by 0.2 percent. and the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by 3.5 percent from the prior month.
