888 is among the original licensed igaming operators in Ontario and responsible gaming has always been a part of their messaging.

With the second-year anniversary of their licensing by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) coming up, the company is rolling out an ad campaign in the province to hammer home the message even more.

As Canadian Gaming Association president Paul Burns told CDC Gaming back in December, one of the key cogs in the regulated igaming market in Ontario, going back to when everything went live on April 4, 2022, has been a strong commitment to healthy play, ensuring sustainable customers, among all industry stakeholders. Responsible gaming was one of the major objectives in building the regulatory regime in the first place.

888 has several RG components on its platform, starting with a safe-gambling initiative called the Control Centre, geared toward helping players gain a better understanding of their gambling behavior.

“888’s Control Centre has been designed as a one-stop shop for safer gambling tools that is simple, quick, and intuitive to use,” said Roi Nadler, Head of Canada at 888. “The Control Centre leverages 888’s proprietary technology to empower players to make informed decisions about their gambling and spending habits in real-time by giving them visibility and transparency on their gaming activity.”

The company offers casino, sport, and poker products, all powered by its technology.

“Ensuring a safe, fair, and entertaining experience for our players is critical to us. We’re committed to preventing gambling-related harm and are confident that our Control Centre offers customers new levels of transparency that will help them stay informed and in control,” Nadler told CDC Gaming. “In the end, every relationship is built on trust. With nearly 30 years of experience, it’s clear to us that responsible gaming alone won’t just give us a competitive advantage, but it will create a strong foundation to build a long-lasting relationship with players, who trust 888 as their destination for entertainment.”

The customer interface sits on 888’s home pages, where players will be able to access intuitively presented playing statistics, dedicated responsible-gambling tools, and education information. The Control Centre was initially launched in the UK.

The ad campaign highlights the tools within Control Centre, including limit-setting tools, player stats, and additional resources where players can take a break, self-exclude for a period of six months, one year, five years or for a lifetime, and set deposit limits.

888, one of the world’s leading online betting and gaming companies, secured its igaming license to operate in Ontario in March 2022.
