LAS VEGAS—(3/22/23)—Sightline’s Chief Legal Officer Jennifer Carleton and Senior Vice President of Strategic Development & Government Affairs Jonathan Michaels will both speak at the Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention, hosted by the Indian Gaming Association, in San Diego on March 28, 2023.

Carleton will moderate a discussion around states’ current strategies to legalize sports betting and how these approaches impact tribes. She will discuss the tactics tribes can implement alongside state legalization efforts to meet their market goals while maintaining their sovereignty. Carleton will be joined on stage by representatives from the Wisconsin Division of Gaming; Hobbs, Straus, Dean & Walker, LLP; Crowell Law Office; and the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians.

Michaels will discuss the adoption of digital payments in the tribal gaming industry. The session will address some of the questions that the tribal gaming industry has about digital payments adoption on casino floors, such as player adoption, customer experience, and return on investment. Michaels and his fellow participants will offer solutions to increase the acceptance of digital payments within the tribal gaming community. Michaels will join representatives from Gaming Laboratories International, Yaamava’ Resort & Casino, and NRT Technology.
