The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Friday reported that combined revenue from all forms of gaming was $456.8 million in February. That’s a slight decrease from the $464.4 generated in January 2023, but a year-over-year increase of 21.6%.
The majority of casinos in the Keystone State posted increased revenue from February 2022, led by Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands, which generated $23.5 million for the month, a 124.1% increase. Hollywood Casino in Morgantown, which opened in December 2021, also posted a significant year-over-year gain, from $3.4 million in February 2022 to $6.5 million, an increase of 90.4%.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantsville led all Pennsylvania casinos with $72.5 million, a year-over-year increase of 21.9%. Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia, $61.4 million, and Parx Casino in Philadelphia, $54.5 million, rounded out the state’s top revenue generators for the month.
Slot revenue was $202.8 million, a slight increase of 4.1% over January 2022. Parx Casino led with $30.7 million, a decrease of -9.4% from the same month in 2022. Wind Creek Bethlehem followed with $23.3 million in slot revenue, a 4.4% year-over-year increase, and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh generated $22.8 million, a 6.2% increase.
For the month, igaming revenue totaled $131.6 million, a year-over-year increase of 36.3%. Hollywood Casino at Penn National’s igaming revenue was $56.5 million, followed by Valley Forge Casino Resort with $27.4 million, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia with $26.3 million.
Revenue from sports wagering was $43.2 million, an astounding year-over-year increase of 9,861.8% from a posted loss of more than $442,000 in February 2022. Valley Forge Resort Casino, the perennial leader in sports betting in the state, again led with revenue of $23.4 million and a handle of $235.1 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows generated $10.2 million in sports betting revenue with a handle of $157.3 million, and Parx Casino yielded revenue of $1.8 million from a handle of $14.7 million.
