Since Illinois Governor JB Pritzker signed a bill in June 2019 to legalize online sports gambling, the state has seen record levels of gambling.

That January alone the state saw nearly $900 million of sports wagering.

With record-high revenues, comes the side effect of gambling – addiction.

Recently, the Illinois Department of Human Services released its first-ever statewide assessment of the recent gambling problem in Illinois.

The assessment reports on the prevalence of different types of gambling in the state, the availability of treatment and other services, the prevalence of problem gambling among different groups, and overall attitudes about gambling.
