Biden nominates New York casino/track owner to chair federal Public Buildings Reform Board

Jeff Gural, owner of Vernon Downs Casino Hotel and Tioga Downs Casino Resort, has been nominated by President Joe Biden to serve as chair of the Public Buildings Reform Board. Biden nominated Gural to serve on the board July 6, according to a statement from Gural’s representatives.

The board operates as an independent agency that identifies opportunities for the federal government to significantly reduce its inventory of civilian property, thereby reducing federal expenses.

It was created in 2016, after the United States Congress passed the Federal Assets Sale and Transfer Act, according to information provided by Gural’s representatives…

“It’s a true honor to be called into service for our country,” Gural said in a statement.
