Spanish multinational betting operator Codere has upgraded its official bookmaker agreement with Argentinian football club River Plate to become the club’s new main shirt sponsor.

Under the previous deal, Codere held the shirt sleeve rights at River Plate, from 2021-22 to 2024-25, with Turkish Airlines branding the front of shirt as part of a three-year deal, from 2019-20 to 2021-22.

According to the Argentinian news network Infobae, Codere committed about $2m ( €2m) per season for the shirt sleeve position and will now pay $3.5m per season plus value added tax [the standard VAT rate is 21 per cent in Argentina] for the main shirt rights until the end of the 2024-25 season.
