PCI Gaming, doing business as Wind Creek Hospitality, Wednesday announced an agreement to acquire Magic City Casino in Miami. The announcement is the result of a decision by the Florida Gaming Control Commission permitting the transfer of assets, including the gaming license, held by Magic City owners to PCI Gaming’s wholly owned subsidiary, Gretna Racing.

“Our expansions in Pennsylvania, Illinois, and now Florida provide us the ability to take care of and grow opportunities for our tribe,” said Tribal Chair and CEO Stephanie Bryan in a statement.  ”We look forward to becoming a valued partner in the Miami community.”

The brick-and-mortar casino in Miami allows the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, based in Alabama, to expand into a new market.

“Southern Florida is a natural connection from our properties in Aruba and Curaçao, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle”, said Wind Creek CEO and President Jay Dorris. “With close proximity to Miami International Airport, the location is fantastic for players from all Wind Creek properties and gives Miami locals an easy way to experience the Wind Creek brand everywhere we operate.”

The company is currently licensed by FGCC at two wholly owned and operated gaming facilities in northwest Florida.  Leaders from Wind Creek and Magic City expect the transaction to close this spring.

Wind Creek plans to include Magic City players in its reward and loyalty programs by the end of 2023.
